There is increasing collaboration between neurology and specialist palliative care services, and the EAPC/EAN Consensus document, published in 2016, has stimulated further contacts and interest.
In 2018 an online survey of neurologists and palliative care specialists across Europe – EURO-NEURO- was undertaken. 661 people responded and 120 neurologists from 20 countries completed the survey. The results were presented as a poster at the EAN Congress in Oslo and at a session was held at the Scientific Theatre to highlight the results, together with the increasing evidence for the effectiveness of the collaboration between palliative care and neurology and the developments in the future.
