Become a Mentor

What does it mean to be a Mentor?

As a mentor, you will help guide and strengthen the next generation of neurologists by supporting, on an individual basis, a mentee’s ambitions and future career steps, as well as the development of the skills needed to enter the next stage of their professional life.

By entering this relationship, you will engage in mutual learning and enhance your own leadership skills by spending a few hours every month mentoring an individual seeking your advice.

Together with your mentee, you will develop a plan and define goals that can be achieved within the timeframe of the programme.

It is not expected or the intention of this programme that you are responsible for finding a placement in a hospital programme or similar.

"This EAN Mentorship Programme combines the pleasures of being mentor for a young colleague with the learning about neurology, medicine, and society in a foreign country; thank you to all my past mentees and to EAN."
Nils Erik Gilhus (Mentor)
"Shaping the future of neurology is about shaping the coming generation of neurologists. That is what the EAN Mentorship Programme is all about."
Kristian Steen Frederiksen (Mentor)
"Being a mentor in this programme has been incredibly rewarding, witnessing firsthand the positive impact of guidance and collaboration on personal and professional development."
Pietro Cortelli (Mentor)
"Mentorship has been a rewarding journey, providing an opportunity to support my mentee's growth while also learning from her perspectives. The programme’s structure created a strong foundation for meaningful and impactful interactions."
Anita Arsovska (Mentor)
"It is quite rewarding to be a mentor in the EAN Mentorship Programme. I had to shift my view from the path I had taken, to understanding the mentee's situation and needs."
Rolf Fronczek (Mentor)
