EAN: Neurology for Undergraduate Medical Students
In autumn 2025, the EAN Student Task Force organised its first online course on general neurology aimed at EAN Student Members (undergraduate medical students).
This course includes lecture topics selected by the Student Task Force. For the 2025 course, epilepsy, dementia, emergency neurology, and stroke were selected.
Cortex & Coffee – Students’ networking
At the annual EAN congress, we hold a networking meeting on the first morning, so that student members that participate in the onsite congress can find a friend and learn about what we offer for student members.
If you are planning to visit any of our annual congresses, be sure to register for this unique event and start connecting!
Student Teaser Fellowship
The aim of this new fellowship is to give medical students* the opportunity to gain insight into neurology in general or in a specific domain of interest during their medical studies.
By taking part in exchange programmes, students can improve their medical education, get experience in other departments, and foster networking. All this will help them when choosing between general neurology and neurological sub-fields.
More information can be found here.

Students on Scientific Panels
In summer 2022 the EAN introduced a new membership benefit for Student Members: the option to join the EAN Scientific & Coordinating Panels.
Often referred to as the organisation’s ‘scientific backbone’, the panels have a hand in everything the EAN does from a scientific point of view, including coordinating clinical research, disseminating good practice, assisting in planning the EAN annual congress, supporting the EAN’s educational efforts, and producing guidelines that assist neurologists in daily practice.
By joining a panel, Student Members will receive direct insight into the multifaceted work of the panels and of the EAN in general. Student Members will be invited to join the panels’ annual business meetings during the EAN Congress, will be added to the MyEAN Group of the respective panels in the registered user area, and will be listed among the panel members on the EAN website.
If you are interested in joining any of the EAN Scientific & Coordinating Panels, fill out your application today!
Kindly note, that student membership is mandatory in order to take part in the activities above.
