RRFS NeuroART Competition at EAN Congress Celebration!
Call for Participation
Dear RRFS Members,
Are you ready to showcase your creativity and celebrate the 10-year milestone of EAN with us?
We are thrilled to invite you to participate in our NeuroART Competition, featuring three exciting categories:
- Photography and Painting
- Music, Dance, and Video
- Poetry and Short Essays
In celebration of the 10-year milestone, the RRFS would encourage RRFS members to actively participate by submitting their NeuroART pieces during the upcoming EAN congress.This SciArt initiative aims to foster engagement, collaboration, and creativity within the RRFS community to increase the wellbeing of our members.
The prize is a travel grant (€300) to be used for the 11th EAN Congress in Seville. There are 3 travel grants available. Only one grant is available per person.
This contest is open to active EAN Resident and Research (RRFS) Members.
Deadline for submission: 9 June 2024 23:55 (CEST)
Through this innovative intersection of neurology and art, we aim to create a memorable and enriching experience for all attendees at the 10-year celebration of the EAN congress.

NeuroART contest guidelines
Send a piece of art to be presented at the next EAN congress. Enhance public understanding of neurology and neuroscientific research through visually appealing and accessible NeuroArt pieces. Use the exhibition to communicate complex neurological ideas in a compelling and approachable manner. Please, see specific guidelines for one of the three categories:
Photograph/Painting
- An original photography related to Neurology (minimum 300 dpi)
- A brief caption describing it (maximum 150 words) and mentioning the sub-specialty/neurological disease that inspires it.
Music and/or dance
- A video record of a brief piece of music or dance related to Neurology (maximum 1 minute)
- Maximum 1GB.
- A brief caption describing it (maximum 150 words) and mentioning the sub-specialty/neurological disease that inspires it.
Poetry/Essay
- An original piece of poetry related to Neurology (maximum one page; minimum 500 words).
- A brief caption/essay mentioning the sub-specialty/neurological disease that inspires it.
Additional information
EAN NeuroART award will be reviewed by an evaluation committee assigned by the RRFS office.
The evaluation criteria will be according to the score of 0-5 (0 = minimum, 5 = maximum) based on scientific content, connection between Neurology concept and art, and art quality. The artistic works with the highest score in each category will be awarded with the Prize.
The awarded applicants commit themselves to accept the NeuroART regulations and to grant the copyright to EAN for institutional objectives and advertising media.
Important! If we detect a high probability that Chat GPT or a similar AI programme has been used to create your text/image, it will be automatically excluded from the review.

Announcement of the results
The EAN NeuroART committee will inform to the awarded applicants by email and EAN website. The awarded works will be displayed at the Congress RRFS booth, in the EAN website and newsletter.
