Editorial highlighting the potential for earlier, more inclusive screening strategies that could improve primary prevention for women. The unique risk and outcome profiles of women remain insufficiently addressed in existing models. As the incidence of ischaemic stroke in younger populations continues to rise and their risk profiles are increasingly shaped by non-traditional factors, developing prediction algorithms that span the entire lifespan and incorporate these risk factors as well as sex-specific risk factors is a crucial next step.
