Portia is a London-based not-for-profit organisation founded in 2001 by women scientists from Imperial College to advance understanding of gender issues in science. It conducts research, develops projects, and publishes expert reports, with strong expertise in EU gender and STEM policy. Portia leads the Gender Summit, a global platform fostering dialogue across research, industry, and policy to explore how sex and gender influence research outcomes. Since 2011, it has hosted 12 international events and built a community of 6,000 experts and practitioners.
