From patients' differences to patient characteristics - the work of the Women's Brain Project

A wealth literature has shown that many mental and neurological diseases are affected by both sex and gender. These have an impact across a broad range of areas of these diseases, including preclinical research, diagnosis, treatment, and patient care. This session is aimed to introduce and summarise sex and gender effects on the different brain and mental health diseases and the resulting unmet clinical needs and to highlight several projects from the Women's Brain Project aimed at addressing brain and mental diseases from a sex and gender lens. These steps are the gateway toward precision medicine.
