EAN Resident and Research Fellow Section

Election for the new RRFS Officer

The EAN Resident and Research Fellow Section elects the next Officer, who will start the term at the EAN Congress 2026 and become the RRFS Chair & Representative to the Board (full EAN Board Member) in 2028.

As an RRFS Officer, the person will represent the EAN Resident and Research Fellow Section, gathering around 2000 junior neurologists and trainees, and have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from across Europe while contributing to shaping the future of neurology.

We are calling for applications from colleagues who are interested in taking on this important role within the RRFS and are willing to devote their time and energy to the associated tasks.

We are looking for motivated candidates to serve a 5‑year term which rotates annually through the following positions:

  • Treasurer (1st year)
  • Secretary (2nd year)
  • Chair & Representative to the EAN Board (3rd year)
  • Past Chair (4th year)
  • Liaison (5th year)

Candidates for this position must:

  • be an active RRFS member from an EAN Full Institutional Member country,
  • remain eligible for RRFS membership for the full 5‑year term, and
  • have already been engaged in EAN activities.

Please note that if you currently hold a Representative position within the RRFS, you will be required to step down from that role should you be elected.

  • Representing the RRFS externally
  • Collaborating with other RRFS Officers, RRFS Representatives and the EAN Headoffice
  • Attending all relevant RRFS Office (and later EAN Board) meetings, including meetings with the RRFS Representatives
  • Representing the RRFS as a member of the EAN Board during his/her term as the RRFS Chair (the Chair is a full voting member of the Board with all rights and duties that this position includes)
  • Promoting the EAN and the RRFS
  • Organizing and facilitating RRFS Congress-related activities (in cooperation and with support from the Headoffice)
  • RRFS Officers must attend the EAN annual congress, and at least two other in-person meetings during the year as well as regular teleconferences; and must maintain regular email contact. On average, the work of a RRFS Officer amounts to approximately 5 hours per week. Expenses for travel for the congress and any mandatory meetings outside the congress are covered by the EAN, otherwise this position is entirely voluntary.

All applicants must submit their application via the application form. Required documents: a single pdf file containing your CV and motivational letter (outlining your interest, motivation and what skills and experience you have that would make you a good candidate for this position – max. 500 words).

Those who are accepted as eligible candidates will be asked to submit a short video (max. 5 min) explaining why they are a good fit for the position.
This video will be available online for viewing by RRFS members until the day of the RRFS General Assembly. All RRFS members will receive a link and are encouraged to vote.
