If you forget your badge, we can reprint it in return for a deposit of the same amount paid for your congress registration. A refund will be made when both badges are shown and one is returned to the registration desk.

Virtual access to the Congress Platform is possible by logging in with your MyEAN credentials at www.eanvirtualcongress.org. No badge is required for virtual participation. No physical badge is required for virtual participation.

Scanning of badges:

Participants are not obliged to allow exhibitors to scan their badge in the exhibition area or when entering an industry symposium. Participants must show their badge for proof of access rights, but do not need to let someone scan it. By allowing a company to scan, you acknowledge that your registration details will be forwarded to the exhibitor.

Caring for the environment

Bag recycling - You can leave your congress bag at the registration desk when leaving the congress.

Green print - The print materials of this congress have been printed on paper that is PEFC approved. PEFC is an organisation that certifies paper manufacturers who keep to sustainable forest management criteria.

Reducing print - The printed programme has been replaced with the Pocket Programme available for all onsite congress participants.

The complete programme can also be found online in the Virtual Congress Platform where you can create your individual schedule.

We also try to use only recyclable tableware.
Offset your carbon footprint - You can contribute to our ecological efforts by offsetting the carbon footprint of your travels to Vienna. A carbon offset represents a reduction in emissions somewhere else. You can learn more and offset your carbon footprint at: www.carbonfund.org.

We are doing our best and there is still much to learn, so we are always happy to hear your ideas. Please do not hesitate to write to us at headoffice(at)ean.org.

Childcare/Junior Suite not available in 2022

Due to the current situation EAN will not be able to offer childcare at the EAN Congress 2022.

However, EAN fully understands that going to meetings with young children is extremely difficult for many different reasons and EAN will offer this service again at the EAN Congress 2023. If you are planning to travel to the EAN Congress 2022 with young children, several childcare services are offered at hotels or can also be booked via Service4Kids.

For any questions arising please do not hesitate reaching out to europe2022(at)ean.org.

The 8th Congress of the European Academy of Neurology takes place at the ACV – Austria Center Vienna, which is located in the 22nd district of Vienna, only a few minutes away from the city centre by public transport.

The CAT (City Airport Train) is the fastest way from the airport to the city centre. Within the city, public transport is recommended.

Vienna has a comprehensive, fully-integrated public transport network consisting of five underground lines, 28 tram routes and more than 100 bus routes. Waiting times are very short – as little as just 3-5 minutes at peak times. It takes just seven minutes to reach Stephansplatz from the Austria Center Vienna on the U1. Please visit the Wiener Linien website for route details: www.wienerlinien.at

Please also see the Public Transport section below.

Covid-19 Restrictions

Please find the Covid-19 rules & Regulations here.

Currency and Banks

The official currency of the 8th EAN Congress in Vienna is Euro (€).

The easiest ways to get Euros is from ATMs, which are everywhere in Vienna. Most ATMs work with credit cards of the Visa and MasterCard type, and debit cards that use the Maestro or Cirrus systems.

Electricity

Austria uses the 220 – 240 Volt/50 Mhz system and two-pin continental plugs – the same as most other European countries.

Electrical appliances use continental-style two-pin plugs. Power converters can be borrowed at some hotels.

If you visit from the UK, Ireland, Australia or Switzerland, you need to bring a plug adaptor. C and F type plugs generally fit Austrian electricity sockets.

The USA, Canada and a large part of South America have the different 110-127 Volt system, which means many devices from there can only be connected in Austria using a transformer.

In case of an emergency there are three different phone numbers you should know.

  • International Emergency Number 112
