EAN Congress 2027 Bursaries for Abstract Presenters

The 13th Congress of the EAN offers up to 240 bursaries consisting of free registration to the congress and up to four nights of hotel accommodation. Bursaries on the topic of Movement disorders are co-sponsored by MDS-ES. 

For EAN it is essential that individuals in training for neurology and neurologists in their early career who have prepared their own work —and had it submitted and accepted for presentation at the congress—have the opportunity to present it and to take part in the annual EAN congress.  

Quite often, this is not possible due to limited financial resources. For this reason, it is in EAN’s interest to reward applicants with the best abstracts, bursaries valued up to 4-night accommodation and a free registration to the Congress corresponding to € 1.150,-. 

Information on application and selection

Eligible are EAN Resident and Research Members or Student Members from EAN member countries. Please see our EAN Resident and Research membership  or  Student membership packages for further information. If your membership application has not yet been confirmed, we kindly request to hold off submitting abstracts until your membership is valid. Note that it may take up to 10 working days for your application to be approved. 
 
RRFS and Student Members from Algeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Nepal, Palestine, South Africa, Syria, and Tunisia can apply for bursaries. 

If you wish to apply for bursaries, please do so during abstract submission. The bursary check box is only selectable during the abstract submission when the selected presenting author is an active EAN RRFS or Student Member. 

Applications for bursaries will only be considered if submitted by the time of the abstract submission deadline (14 January 2027). Please keep in mind that only one bursary per abstract will be awarded to the presenting author indicated during submission. 

Bursaries are not available for Late-Breaking Abstract Submissions. 

Bursary recipients will be selected based on abstract evaluation carried out by the Programme Committee. 
Applicants who have been granted a bursary will be informed before the lapse of the early registration fee deadline. 

The prize is not transferable and will not be paid off in cash. Not utilising the bursary may prevent you from applying for future bursary opportunities. 

  • Residents/neurologists in training 
  • Research Fellows 
  • PhD students in Neurology 
  • The abovementioned three groups up to a maximum of 3 years beyond their latest degree (MD, PhD)
