Ground transportation
Paris offers convenient public transportation. The system consists of the Métro (underground), Tram, RER suburban express train (which interconnects with the Métro inside Paris), bus and Noctilien (night bus).
The Métro is the cheapest, easiest and fastest way to get around Paris and covers the whole city centre. It is very efficient and will take you anywhere you need to go within Paris city limits, and sometimes slightly beyond. Buses are less reliable but still offer a good service.
All the public transport in Paris and the surrounding region is part of the same ticket and price system, operated by RATP. Tickets are valid for the Métro, Tram, RER trains and busses. For more information, visit Parisinfo.
