Abstracts 

Presenting your work at one of Europe’s biggest forums for neurology has always been a thrill and we would like to invite everyone to submit an abstract to get the chance to present it in various ePoster sessions and/or an Oral Session

Badges 

Onsite access to all scientific and networking events is only possible with the congress badge. All participants are requested to wear their congress badge throughout the congress.  

The Virtual Congress Platform is accessible by logging in to your MyEAN at www.eanvirtualcongress.org. No congress badge is required for virtual participation. 

Scanning of badges: Participants are not obliged to allow exhibitors to scan their congress badge in the exhibition area or when entering an industry symposium. Participants must show their congress badge for proof of access rights but are not required to let someone scan it. By allowing a company to scan your congress badge, you acknowledge that your registration details will be forwarded to the exhibitor. 

Children at EAN Congress 2026: EAN Junior Suite

 Aiming to support families and parents attending the EAN Congress 2026, EAN provides a childcare service for children between 1 and 12 years of age to all registered participants. 

To register your child(ren), please book this service while registering for the congress or using the upgrade feature in your MyEAN account. Please follow the description provided during registration and submit the form to complete the sign-up process. 

Nursing Area in Junior Suite 

There is a dedicated area in the Junior Suite for nursing for parents with infants. This area will be equipped with a chair and sectioned off for privacy for those who seek this. We welcome any new parent to use this area, away from the business of the general congress area. 

Climate 

Around the end of June, as it is early summer, the weather in Geneva is generally pleasant and warm. The average temperature in June is 12°-24° Celsius. You can expect mildly cool and humid days.  

Cloakroom 

A cloakroom is situated in the congress area behind badge control and is open during the registration secretariat opening hours. The cloakroom service is free of charge. 

Clothing 

Informal for all occasions. It is recommended that you wear clothing appropriate for the local weather. 

Congress Bags 

Like every year, EAN provides congress bags to participants. Congress bags will be made from recycled materials; therefore, they are available only while stock lasts. For sustainable reasons, we kindly ask our individual participants as well as group leaders to order congress bags during the registration process. 

Take a memory with you and pick up your bag from the Congress Material and Merchandising Desk in the Registration Area at the venue!

Provided that Palexpo is located very close to the Geneva Airport and the Geneva airport train station, whether you arrive to the city by plane, train or public transport, you will only need a ten-minute walk to get to the venue. 

If you are taking a bus (lines 5, 8, 10, 23, 28, 50, 54, 56, 57, 59, and 66), look for the stop ‘Palexpo’, ‘Palexpo-Halle 7’ or ‘Airport’. 

Currency and Banks 

In Switzerland, the currency used is the Swiss Franc (CHF). Although Euros might be accepted in some businesses, it is not common. 

While cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants and shops, there can be occasions or businesses where they do not accept cards. 

Depending on the banks, opening hours may vary, however, banks are usually open on weekdays between 08:30-16:30. Some may be closed during lunch. 

At the 12th EAN Congress in Geneva, Euro (€) is accepted. EAN does not accept cash payments onsite. Only credit card (VISA and MasterCard) and PayPal payments are accepted.

Get updates on MyEAN and our activities on social media platforms. Send EAN Congress postcards to your family, friends and/or colleagues at home. Just drop them in the mailbox. EAN will provide the stamp and mail them for you! Join us and become a member of our community!

LEARN 

When visiting the LEARN area, you can find all educational aspects that underpin the EAN vision and aim to define the standard skills of a European neurologist and to provide as much education to European neurologists as needed. 

Here, you can learn about what EAN has to offer from its study programmes outside the EAN congress (EAN Schools & Regional Teaching Event) to grants that support projects in other European Neurological Departments (EAN Fellowships) as well as mentoring and leadership in neurology. 

Come by and visit the eanCampus, the innovative eLearning platform from EAN. eanCampus content is available for users at all experience levels and in all 29 EAN scientific topics. EAN members are invited to explore the entirety of the platform with access to over 1,000 congress presentations, unique case studies, guidelines, podcasts, interactive modules and more! 

In case you are attending virtually, make sure you visit the LEARN booth in the virtual congress platform to gather all information. 

RESEARCH 

Get all the information on EAN guideline production and the Scientific Panels. Not only can you be informed about panel membership here, but you can also learn about what these panels do and plan to do in the future. Grab your copy of EAN Guidelines and make yourself familiar with other great publications. 

MEET 

Meet your colleagues in a relaxing setting! Visit this area in the morning for a cup of coffee and a chat among colleagues from all over Europe and the world. Seize the opportunity for quick casual business meetings. Coffee will be served in the mornings and evenings. Challenge yourself with the tricky EAN "hot wire" game.  

Just stop by to hang out and to find out about our next congress destinations. The latest information on the EAN Congress 2027 in Gothenburg will be also available there. 

Electricity 

Just like most European countries, Switzerland uses the 230 Volt/50 Hz system and both type C (two-pin continental) and Type J (3-pin) plugs. Type C 2-pin plugs also fit J sockets. 

Make sure you bring a plug adapter if you use different plug types. If you are travelling from a country which uses the voltage ranging of 100-127V like the USA, Canada and a large part of South America, please bring a voltage converter with you. 

Power converters can be borrowed at some hotels. 

Emergency Phone Numbers 

In case of emergency, call 112 for immediate assistance.  

This number is available free of charge from any phone, including mobiles without a SIM card and connects you to all emergency services: medical, police, and fire. 

ePoster Sessions 

ePoster sessions are held in the ePoster area located in the exhibition hall and will not be livestreamed nor recorded. ePosters will, however, be available online and will include a narration from the presenting authors.

An extensive exhibition is held concurrently with the congress. Exhibition opening hours are:

Accompanying children over the age of 1 year are not allowed to access the exhibition area due to the Pharma Codex. Thank you for your understanding. 

Film and photos 

Please be advised that photographs and video recordings may be taken at the 12th EAN Congress. By participating in the congress, you consent to the publication, release, exhibition and/or reproduction of such photos to be used on the EAN website, EAN news blogs ‘eanNews’, and other social media platforms.

As a medical organisation, health is very important to the European Academy of Neurology. Not only do we care about the health of patients but also that of our participants’ brains and bodies as well as of our general environment.

Insurance and Liability 

The congress organisers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participants, either during or indirectly arising from the 12th Congress of the European Academy of Neurology. 

It is recommended that all participants are covered by personal travel insurance for their trip. 

Language 

The official language of the congress is English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.

Lunch and Coffee Breaks 

Light lunch and coffee breaks are included in the onsite registration fee and will be served in the exhibition area. 

As part of our efforts to promote sustainability, we provide vegetarian options only. By choosing plant-based foods over animal products, we significantly reduce the carbon footprint of each participant and the congress itself, conserve water and protect our environment.

Members’ Lounge 

EAN Full and Corresponding individual members, FEANs, RRFS and faculty members have the possibility to network and enjoy their lunch in a separate Members’ Lounge.

There is also a photographer who will take a portrait of you for your EAN profile onsite during scheduled hours. 

Mobile Phones/Smartphones 

Important: All congress participants attending the onsite congress are asked to bring their smartphone and/or tablet with them to participate in all interactive activities such as voting, Q&A sessions and evaluations. 

We kindly ask that mobile phones are on mute during all sessions. 

Paperless Congress 

Like our previous congresses, the full Congress Programme and the Abstract Book are available online only. A printed Pocket Programme can be picked up onsite. 

Parking for Visitors 

At Palexpo, there are 1,500 spaces available for visitors in the P12 car park including spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility. If you come by electric car, there are four quick charging stations (20kW) installed on level -1 of the P12. Payment can made by credit card or by invoice, depending on your needs and user status. Make sure to check rates.  

Pets & Animals 

Please be advised that pets are not permitted within the congress venue, with the exception of certified assisting animals. 

While we appreciate the companionship pets provide, this policy ensures the comfort and safety of all participants. 

Pocket Programme 

The Pocket Programme contains an overview of the Congress Programme and EAN activities. It also includes a floor plan, which might help you navigate your ways in the congress venue. You can pick up a Pocket Programme at the EAN booth and in the registration area. 

Press and Press Room 

A media room with wireless internet access is available to registered journalists. The press room is located in the congress venue.

As a rule, filming and photography are not permitted in congress sessions and in the exhibition hall. 

Public Transport 

A special transport card is provided to visitors staying at a hotel/in accommodation approved by the city of Geneva for free. This card allows visitors to travel free of charge within zone 10 (Unireso network) and provides unlimited access to Geneva’s public transport system for the duration of their stay.  

To find your way to our congress venue, we recommend using Google Maps (or other similar applications) and typing ‘Palexpo’ in the search bar.

Train: If you are taking the train to Geneva airport train station (10 minutes from the city centre, 40 minutes from Lausanne and less than 3 hours from Zurich), it is only a ten-minute walk from the train station to the venue. 

Bus: You can take lines 5, 8, 10, 23, 28, 50, 54, 56, 57, 59 and 66 and get off at the stop ‘Palexpo’, ‘Palexpo-Halle 7’ or ‘Airport’.

Smoking Policy

 Smoking is prohibited at all times in the meeting halls, the exhibition hall and restrooms. Your cooperation is very much appreciated. 

Speakers' Service Centre (SSC) 

All speakers are requested to upload their presentations (PowerPoint only) via the Virtual Speaker Service Centre. An upload link is sent to the speaker’s email address as indicated in the corresponding MyEAN account. If you cannot find your upload link, please contact abstracts(at)ean.org. 

There is a possibility to upload the presentation via a USB stick at the Speakers’ Service Centre (SSC) at least four hours prior to the scheduled session. The SSC is located in the congress venue. There, speakers have the opportunity to check their presentations on desktop devices.

Teaching Courses 

Please check the Congress Programme for the schedules of Teaching Courses (TCs). Teaching Courses are available and free of charge for all registered participants. 

Time Zone 

Switzerland is in the Central European Time (CET) during winter as standard time and the Central European Summer Time (CEST) during the summer. 

Visa Regulations 

Visa regulations depend on your nationality. Please contact your local consulate or embassy for official instructions on the specific visa regulations and application procedures that apply to you. 

EAN provides a visa letter to registered onsite participants. Please log in into your MyEAN account and go to ‘Events’ and ‘My Registrations’. Then, click on the upcoming congress. On the next page, there is a button for a visa letter in the top right corner. 

The visa letter can only be requested once; therefore, please make sure that all information is correct! Also note that a visa letter can be requested upon paid onsite registration. 

Wi-Fi 

EAN provides complimentary wi-fi in the registration area, the exhibition hall and session rooms.
