Bernhard Steinhoff
Prof Steinhoff studied medicine at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg in Breisgau and completed his doctorate in 1989 with a thesis on Antiepileptic therapy with bromides at the University of Heidelberg.
In 1987 he began his specialist training as an assistant physician in the adult clinic of the Kork Epilepsy Center. From 1990 to mid-1992, he moved to the Neurology Clinic of the University Hospital of Munich, and he completed a six-month research fellowship in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. From the beginning of 1993, he initially worked as an assistant physician with the duties of a senior physician in the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology at the Georg August University of Göttingen. After completing his specialist training, he served as senior physician in the department and head of the Epilepsy and EEG working group. At the beginning of 1997, Prof Steinhoff completed his habilitation in Göttingen for neurology and clinical neurophysiology with studies on the neurophysiological profile of established and new antiepileptic drugs.
Since July 2000, Prof Steinhoff has been working at the clinic and outpatient clinic for adults at the Kork Epilepsy Center, as senior consultant until April 2002, and since then as chief physician, and since 2004 also as a medical director.
